Fact-Check Policy

Staff check names, numbers, quotes, dates, and claims against primary documents, official records, and named sources before a story is published. When a subject needs specialized knowledge, we talk with people who have it.

We name our sources and link to them when we can. Partner stories keep the originating newsroom’s reporting. We do not present those facts as our own original work.

If we use AI tools while drafting or editing, a person still checks the published facts.

Advertisers and sponsors do not decide what we report or how we describe it.
